I have said this before,
We are all a little PETA,..none of us are happy to see beheaded deer laying on the side of the road,or dead animals laying in the woods with shots in them. And most hunters prefer fair chase hunting, only hunt to feed their family and themselves healthier meat.
I am not one to harvest a animal unless I can eat it. I don't hunt to collect horns, points or fur and I certainly can not hunt for bounty.
I had been offered to hunt for Coyotes this past fall, and I told the guy that I had no use to kill for just the purpose of killing. He didn't get it I don't think so I explained myself a little more in detail.
when I hunt I am harvesting, harvesting meaning there's a time of the year this or the animal you are seeking is in season for hunting. I don't hunt to just hunt, I hunt to fill my freezer so I have meat for the coming winter and into the summer for cook outs. So therefore you won't find stuffed Coyote on my walls, or beaver pelts in my shed or deer heads mounted on my walls. I have 2 deer heads my and my biggest out of 6 bucks I have harvested in my 30 plus years of hunting. And for the record I have harvested 18 Doe's in my 30 plus years of hunting. ALL for eating. Same as with squirrels, rabbits, turkey & dove. I have hunted and eaten rattle snake too. But when it comes to Coyotes, muskrats, beaver, groundhogs, I just can't do it. I have no use for them as a table fare.
So I guess I am somewhat part PETA , but no where near what they would like me or others to be.
I am sure they are against pet stores but not against having pets, so I wonder where do they get their pet food and supplies?!
PETA what a joke, if they could only be as honest as they claim they are !!!!
