*436 ACRES OF MUSKINGUM COUNTY WOODLANDS TO BECOME
FIRST-EVER OHIO FOREST LEGACY PROJECT PROPERTY
Media invited to meet landowner and review national conservation program

COLUMBUS, OH - A 436-acre forested area located in Muskingum County and owned by Superior Hardwoods of Ohio, Inc. is the first woodland in the state to become permanently protected through the federal Forest Legacy Program, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry. A recognition ceremony is planned for noon on Friday, May 9 to commend this important conservation effort.

The Forest Legacy Program provides a one-time payment for a permanent conservation easement, guaranteeing that a woodland remains a managed and working forest. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service and administered in Ohio by the ODNR Division of Forestry.
