Ok I admit it I will bow hunt every and any thing that moves from frog and turtles to deer and beer. How ever the hardest thing Ive hunted with the bow is the coyote. Ive shot them with every thing from my 12 gauge to my 30-06. A few yrs back I took it to a new extreme bow hunting them. Boy have I learn alot.there is a big differrence in shooting them from 200 yrds as a friend of mine does to shooting the at 30 yrds or less.camo, calling, and how long you can hold your bow at full draw make a world of difference . I probably kill 1 out of every 5 I call in. Mostly because for what ever reason they just wont come in. AS Deer season winds down and we are tagged out. Rember that coyotes are open yr round. And will give you something challenging and rewarding to do during the off season, If any needs any tips on set ups calls etc. let me know

PostSubject: Great Post,..   Wed 07 Jan 2009, 7:23 pm

Hey that was a great post !!! cheers

I personally don't hunt coyotes or anything that I don't eat ,..but I would believe that using a distress call (like a rabbit,or squirrel),in distress call would get a coyotes attention.
I am not sure whether you can use decoys,or even use baits,..but those could be some other pieces of equipment or tactics to use to get coyotes into you closer.

I will tell you this,...it may seem easy, but hunting squirrels with a bow is a challenge let me tell ya.And if you want even more of a challenge, try dove hunting with a bow,..in my life time I have only harvested one dove,..and thats because I believe he/she had a case of stupid disease lol ! And I was able to get a 25 yd shot while he was nippin corn on the ground.

But anyways good luck to all that hunt aything with a bow,or crossbow,..it ain't the easiest tool to hunt with.

HOWLLLLLLLLLLL !!! Howlin at the MOON

I love hunting squirrealls with the bow. Ive never tried doves but i got a few crows on the ground but they had a case of stupid as well. One of these days we will have to get together hunt some. I dont eat the coyotes I kill but I sell them to a guy for 20 bucks a piece he makes all sort of things out of them then sells the stuff on ebay lots of rugs and skulls bit weird but each there own.

my thought on hunting kyotes with a bow.. you seem to know where to get them love to , so why not pick up a road kill sat up a trap . place a stsnd by it , and hunt them over the bait . im thinking a moonlitt night would be great fun out of a treestand for kyotes . especialy with snow on the ground . h

Thats a good idea to set a tree stand over some bait how ever by law yotes are considered fur bayers so u cant hunt them out of a tree other wise it would make it so much easyier

if you want a real challenge, try hunting rabbits on the run with a bow, anyone can hit a still target Rolling Eyes why not try for a moving one????

I plan on hunting geese with a bow this year and YES they will be on the wing for me to shoot cheers

I might even try some doves on the opening day to see if they are faster then a speeding arrow Laughing
