Be respectful and timing is everything.
Also most farmers are okay with bowhunters (crossbows too), more then gun hunters.

Due to the fact they (farmers) are working in the field (s).
And if I may ask,..what will you do with the ground hogs you harvest?
Young ground hogs are usually good,..but the older ones are very greasy and tough.
Using the meat from the older ground hogs for coyote hunting could be an idea, as bait.Also cutting the meat up in small pieces also makes for some good catfish bait and muskie bait.
