does any one have ANY info on pigs down in southern ohio????
and yes ive been on the odnr page and read everything,im lookin for the inside scoop so to speak )

I haven't seen any pigs in the woods, in any part of southern Ohio. I hunt just about every piece of public land Ohio has to offer, I have to, due to this being Ohio Public Wildlife lol, anywho,.. I haven't seen the feral pigs (boars), that ODNR claim are a nusance. I would have to actually see one to even come to the conclusion that Boars are a nusance in Ohio. I think there was a small time when some had gotten out of a exotic game place and people freaked when they saw them in the wild and running free. If there are feral swine in any part of Ohio's public lands it is very very chancey that you would see one.
But if you are looking to pay to hunt one there are a couple places in Ohio I think that offer boar hunting on their land. Double D ranch in Vinton County is one of the better known places.

Yes ODNR can be somewhat clueless at times, and usually believes the most outlandish stories. I think they do this to make us feel like theres more then just deer and turkeys to hunt. Even bear talk reared its ugly head.
bears have been seen in past years and one was witnessed in Chillicothe Ohio last year. But it seems they never caught it or at least I haven't heard anything more about it since then.
Boars would be nice to hunt, and with me I love eating them, they are alot meatier then farm raise swine.

All I can say is keep yours ears open as well as your mind. But don't get your hopes up. More then likey you'll have the same luck I have, when your not looking for it it will show itself. lol. Good Luck bro. and Be SAFE out there !
