On Monday I saw a fresh Road kill Doe on Rt 23 in Chillicothe at the entrance of the weigh station on the southbound side. And the next day I saw that same road kill being consumed by turkey vultures, and just about 1/8 of a mile (on the exit side),on the southbound side there was a big buck laying down and it looked as though he was trying to get up.
I was wrong,..on my return from KY I saw again, still in the same place I saw him that morning.
But he wasn't alive, when I saw him that morning he was actually dying.
I was going to take pictures of the nice big buck that still had velvet on his huge rack, but the flies were more then I could bare and the heat was making it impossible to even stand the stitch of death.
But then I looked accross Rt 23 on the north bound side of the other weigh station and I saw a Fawn standing in the parking lot,...alone.it was as if she/he was looking or waiting for mom to come back.
To tell you all the truth I was not happy,I was really upset and felt so helpless because this wasn't nature, this was just the human population being more then the deer or orther animals can handle.
As more NEw homes and other places are built on wood lots and other lands, the animals lose more of their homes, and have to move on,and in doing so,they lose their lives trying to LIVE !!!
It's sad that human beings have to be so greedy and take more land then we will ever need !!!
Slums still grow and foreclosed homes set empty, but yet we still keep building new homes, apartments and other UNNEEDED buildings !!!
Later ALL !!!!
NO HOWLIN' today,..too sad ans sickened,......
